Beara Peninsula

In the summer of 2012 Dick visited the Beara Peninsula in South-West Eire. He says:

We explored some beautiful areas of this peninsula, mainly on foot. The paintings of standing stones, in circles or alignments of Neolithic origin, come from two locations, both relatively off the beaten track. We saw no-one else at one of these locations, and just two walkers at the other, a far cry from Stonehenge or Avebury. The landscape of Beara was often strikingly beautiful, and the greens intense, probably due to the rainfall.
